Locusts have already eaten our crops.. Before harvest.

By: Ahmed ELNAHAS – Firenze, March 5th 2013.
Firstly this government must resign immediately, because the latest Locust annual migratory attack have exposed this government’s incompetence and lack of foreseeing or forecasting problems, and consequently provide and equip itself with the adequate preventive measures and related logistics.. But the poor fellows were busy! Doing what exactly, I do not know for certain.. Definitely what occupies them to the point of neglecting the Egyptian people’s interests cannot be other than one of two things:
        I.            They are secretly preparing for the next “Liberation War” by which Egypt will lead the Arabs to drive the Israeli occupation out of Palestinian lands for good, and solve the Palestinian Question once and for all; or
II.            They are busy praying and praising Allah for granting them the golden opportunity to finally rule and collect some generous benefits (out from our pockets) to secure their children’s, till now uncertain, future.
Hence I come to the title of this article: “Locusts have already eaten our crops.. Before harvest”! The real locusts were not those flying massively in dense clouds over our skies to land over our crops and devastate our economy; for ever since the late decades of the 19th century, Egypt have been able to successfully organise its defensive mechanisms against the annual invasion, and adjusting those mechanisms whenever needed in accordance with the latest available technologies.. And did well I dare to say.. But not today.
Because the most dangerous clouds of locusts have already landed some two years ago, to swallow the Revolutionary Seeds that we planted that day back in January 25th 2011, without even giving us the smallest joy of watching those seeds grow into a healthy green crop.. They have eaten our seeds and then evacuated upon our heads their crap.
Nevertheless, I don’t blame them.. I blame who gave them this chance to jump over the Revolution’s Locomotive and allowed them to drive on.. I blame us.. The people.. The only true legitimate opposition remaining on the field.. Yet apparently still absent!
We are to blame because:
Ø  We, the people, did not insist ever since the very beginning on having our ‘Nuremberg’. And make a clean sweep in every corner of our lands and our thoughts.
Ø  We, the people, did not impose our will to have a real representative ‘Constituent Commission’ in charge of drafting the Constitution.
Ø  We, the people, were not persistent enough to force the then temporary ruler ‘SCAF’ to adopt our request and allow the constituents to formulate new elections law in order to guarantee transparency and clarity during the entire process.
Ø  We, the people, accepted to play along according to the same laws and regulations of a political game, same as dictated by the Pre-Revolution Dictator’s ‘Buffoons’ falsely called ‘Honourable Representatives of the Egyptian People’; fooling ourselves and eluding logic thinking that “maybe something good would come out of it”!
Ø  We, the people, did not pose any valid objection against ‘Old’ figures, along with their parties, their servile Media, and their financing lobbies; to be part of the ‘NEW’.. Our new.
Ø  We, the people, were not ready with an accurate agenda based upon reason and ideas.. Thus allowing the Brotherhood to fill the void and lead its own way, while taming old figures belonging to old political parties who, despite their proven record of old failures, have survived the Revolution by simply changing their jacket pins.
Ø  We, the people, have invited these Locusts into our fields.
Now.. Since we have created the mess in the first place, it should then be up to us to clean it.. But let us make it right this time.. Because if we, the people from each and every political, cultural, ethnic or ideological orientation, should sit together around a table; we shall immediately find ourselves in total agreement with a Government’s Programme which:
·         Denies public funding for Political Parties, for Newspapers, for Enterprises, for Useless Projects, for Banks, for Wars, for Private Schools and Private Clinics; and
·         Make those who should pay for the Crisis be the Thieves, the Tax Evaders, the Corrupts, the Corrupted, the Corrupters, the Parasites, and the Criminals instead of the majority of the Egyptians who are the true Honest Ones.
No matter how long it should take.. Let us drive those greedy locusts out of our land, out of our tasks and away from our crops.
Pass On The Word.
